What Sets This Luxury Kenya Safari Apart
Most seven-day itineraries surrender a day and a half to road transfers. This one does not. Scheduled light-aircraft flights link Nairobi, Amboseli and the Mara, turning eight-hour drives into forty-minute flights over the Rift Valley.
- A private vehicle throughout. Your own 4×4 and a dedicated guide for the whole journey, never a shared seat on a fixed circuit.
- Camps chosen for position. Each property was selected for where it sits, in low-density concessions with game on the doorstep.
- Reserve or conservancy, your choice. Stay inside the Maasai Mara National Reserve, or in a private conservancy where off-road viewing and night drives are permitted. We will talk you through the trade-offs before you book.

Your Journey, Day by Day
Nairobi: A Warm Welcome (1 Night)
You are met on the airbridge at Jomo Kenyatta International and taken through a private arrivals channel. The first night is spent in one of the city’s finest luxury hotels.
Arrive early enough and the afternoon is yours: the Karen Blixen Museum, the Giraffe Centre, or simply a long bath and an early dinner. There is no obligation to fill it.
Amboseli: Among the Giants (2 Nights)
A short morning flight from Wilson Airport lands you beneath Africa’s highest mountain. Amboseli holds some of the last great tuskers on the continent, and its elephants are among the most studied and most relaxed anywhere in Kenya.
The park is small enough to know well in two days. Mornings are spent on the marshes where the herds gather to feed; late afternoons are given to the western pans, where dust and low light turn every frame gold. On clear mornings Kilimanjaro stands fully open above the cloud, usually between six and eight.
The Maasai Mara: The Timeless Plains (3 Nights)
The flight north crosses the floor of the Rift Valley and sets down on a grass strip in the heart of the Maasai Mara safari ecosystem. Three nights here is the shortest stay we recommend, and the reason is simple: it takes a day to find the rhythm of the country, and two more to enjoy it.
Days are unhurried and shaped around the animals rather than a schedule. Early starts for the cats while the light is still cold. A long breakfast in the grass. Afternoons following whatever the morning turned up, then sundowners on a rise as the plains go copper.
Between July and October the migration herds are in the Mara, and river crossings on the Mara and Talek are possible. Outside those months the resident game remains exceptional, and the plains are quiet.

When to Travel
July to October is the classic window for a luxury Kenya safari. The migration is in the Mara, the grass is short, and game viewing is at its most reliable. This is also peak season, and camps fill nine to twelve months ahead.
January to March is our quiet favourite. Skies are clear, Kilimanjaro shows itself more often than at any other time of year, calving is underway on the plains, and the camps are half as busy. For a first 7 day Kenya safari, it is arguably the better trade.
April, May and November fall in the rains. Some camps close; those that stay open are green, dramatic and considerably less expensive.
